Mainland Sleep was started by Rav Johal in 1998.
Rav graduated from the Respiratory Therapy program at TRU. After graduating he had the opportunity to work in the sleep lab at Richmond Hospital.
It was at that point that Rav realized the long term need within the sleep field. He determined the positive effects that a good night’s sleep had for his patients and decided to pursue a career in the sleep field.

This company was started by a Respiratory Therapist, who did extra training to become a Polysomnographer. He worked for a number of years in the sleep laboratory at Richmond Hospital, and trained many of the techs that are there today, or have moved on to other labs in the province of British Columbia.
It was started on the premise that growth will occur through customer service, and that we need to do all we can to ensure the patients are treated appropriately, with utmost respect, and to make sure all the staff have the proper continuing education to help the patient clinically.
We believe that each patient should get their sleep apnea treatment regardless of their ability to pay, and have been routinely donating machines to patients, for over 20 years.
We believe that some patients require in home respiratory care, and we will continue to provide in home care when required.
We started this company to help each and every patient, and our core values of caring, commitment to each patient, and the commitment to help treat the patient with the appropriate therapy remains to be one of our strongest values.
We strive to help each patient successfully treat their sleep apnea. We provide extensive education, best CPAP equipment, ongoing patient support, and continually are educating ourselves on new CPAP Machine options for our patients.
We will continue these values, and will make sure we are there for each and every patient.
